Field Meetings : Trips in 2004
The Society has a Summer Field Trip programme each year, with a trip each month from May to September inclusive i.e. the period of the year when there are no indoor meetings taking place. The programme for the year is distributed to all members and advertised on posters at various sites in Nantwich e.g. Nantwich Library.
These trips normally take the form of an evening stroll during the week to a local spot. These trips are led by one of our members who has knowledge of that site and the features of interest. They tend to start from Burgess's Car Park (off Welsh Row) in Nantwich at 1830. Participants must either have their own transport or have arranged a lift in advance with someone else who is attending.
Occasionally, the trips range slightly further afield (e.g. to a Nature Reserve or other site outside our area) and then they tend to be held at the weekend. Again, they tend to start from Burgess's Car Park but the start time is normally much earlier in the morning. Again, participants must sort their own transport arrangements out in advance.
Other field trips take place on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year, and these are announced at indoor meetings e.g. special events like the organised bird migration watches, or High Tide birdwatches which depend on the tide times.
